Needs Statement: : Optimal medication management of populations with HIV/AIDS requires pharmacists and other healthcare providers to understand how medication related quality measures impact community pharmacies.
Statement of Goal: To equip the practicing pharmacist with current knowledge and understanding of topics related to HIV-DUR and Safety Labeling.
Objectives
- Describe an optimal method to conduct a concurrent/retrospective drug utilization evaluation for antiretroviral drugs in a target patient population.
- Identify at least one opportunity for improvement in a patient case obtained from an actual DUR program.
- Describe recent FDA safety drug labeling changes for commonly used antiretrovirals and HIV/AIDS related drug therapies.
