About Us


The Continuing Professional Education Program (CPEP) sponsors and co-sponsors various pharmacy-practice-based courses at the local level. The program partners with various organizations, including Howard University College of Pharmacy Alumni Association and the Washington DC Pharmacists Association to assist the metropolitan area’s pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in meeting licensure requirements while advancing their practices.

The mission of the Howard University College of Pharmacy - Office of Continuing Professional Education is to promote professional development of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other professionals in the field of pharmacy in various practice settings with an emphasis on educational programs that focus on current trends in drug therapy management, training areas emphasized by the Washington DC pharmacy licensure requirements and management of diseases in various populations.

The goal of the Howard University College of Pharmacy Continuing Profession Education Program (CPEP) is to achieve the mission statement of the Howard University College of Pharmacy CPE Program, the goals of the Howard University College of Pharmacy CPE programs will be to:

  • Impact pharmacy practice in a variety of practice settings
  • Impact coverage of training areas emphasized by the Washington DC pharmacy licensure requirements.
  • Have impact on pharmacy practice in a variety of specific disease populations.
